A TRIP BACK INTO THE PAST
Find out what the first houses in Elorrio were like, the mediaeval towers and the defensive wall. Find out all about the Battle of Elorrio in 1468 and how people tackled fires. ADVENTURES OF BERRIO-OTXOA
Learn about the adventures of one of Elorrio’s best loved sons: a man who started out as an altar boy and travelled the world preaching his faith. He was so greatly admired that he is now the patron saint of Elorrio and the joint patron of Bizkaia. He has a street named after him, and his own museum. THE TRAIL OF THE CROSSES
If you like walking why not try this trail, which takes you past all nine of the 16th-century wayside crosses still standing in Elorrio. The original purpose of these unique works of wayside art was to mark the borders of the town.
There is also a shorter trail that takes in only the crosses closest to the current town centre.
